EZEKIEL LALAISHIMI

Ezekiel lalaishimi’s grew up the oldest child…

in his family, living in the village of Pareu in Samburu North. He was a bright student that garnered him support from The Thorn Tree Project, a TSP partner organization. It is through them that Ezekiel met Matt Chanoff, an American philanthropist who became a friend, long distance mentor and benefactor. 

After graduating high school in Samburu, Ezekiel went to Nairobi where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Relations from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He is dedicated to community development and has a passion for creating positive change in society. He is dedicated to working closely with the local communities to address social and economic challenges, promote inclusivity and build resilience. Ezekiel became familiar with The Samburu Project through Matt and was inspired by the impactful work The Samburu Project is doing for his community. He was excited to join the team as an intern in 2024 and later, became part of the staff in 2025. As the youngest and newest member of the TSP team, Ezekiel is excited to learn from the other TSP team members and is looking forward to helping fulfill their mission to provide access to clean water and improve sanitation among Samburu people. 

When Ezekiel isn’t in the field, you can find him cheering for Manchester United or watching historical sci-fi movies like Game of Thrones.
