HAROLD ZAGUNIS
Harold Zagunis moved to Kenya in 2018…
to volunteer as a business coach for Stanford Seed (Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Countries) and fell in love with the people in East Africa, and especially the Samburu region. He heard about The Samburu Project while in Kenya, learned more about the organization upon his return to the US, and was thrilled to join its board in 2021.
The vision, mission and values of The Samburu Project align strongly with Harold’s desire to help others by providing necessary resources to empower individuals and their community members to lead more fulfilling lives.
Harold is an accomplished business executive with a 40+ year career in finance. Now retired, he remains active as a coach and consultant with Stanford Seed, collaborating on projects for the Stanford GSB Alumni Consulting Team, providing financial consulting to selected other companies, and serving on various boards for non-profit and for-profit organizations working in the US and Africa.
Harold earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Willamette University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
He has two sons and enjoys traveling around the world with his wife.
